When you’re installing 1,300 pedestrian signals across five counties, regular, effective communication is critical to the project’s success. B&M’s transportation team understands this, and stays in regular contact with the customer to deliver a quality product.

In this case, the customer is PennDOT and the many townships, municipalities, and counties represented by the project. The work spans Route 11 through Franklin, Cumberland, York, Dauphin, and Lancaster Counties.

Nearly 170 intersections are involved, but a “one size fits all” approach to this project would not work. That’s because each municipality has different pole and signal head requirements, different controllers, and different trenching needs.

B&M’s Project Manager, Zach S., keeps it all straight and leads the team in communicating with the customers when questions or issues arise. So far, with about 70-percent of the work completed, PennDOT and the municipalities involved are very pleased with the equipment upgrades and the quality of our team’s service.

B&M’s team has also delivered a safe project, with zero safety incidents throughout 12 months of work.
