Safety Awards Piling Up for Bruce & Merrilees

NEW CASTLE, PA - August 5, 2017 - Bruce & Merrilees Electric Company, headquartered in New Castle, Pennsylvania, has won yet another safety award!

The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) has given the company its 2017 Safety Excellence Award for District 2. This recent award is just further proof of company’s commitment to safety.

Perhaps the ultimate proof came recently when they reached the major safety milestone of two million hours on the job without a single Lost –Time Incident (LTI). OSHA defines an LTI as an injury or incident that causes a worker to miss one or more working days. Quite an accomplishment given the potential dangers of electrical work and that the company employs more than 300 employees.

Bruce & Merrilees President and CEO Jay Bruce, said “Our commitment to safe work comes before everything else we do. Safe is our very first core value. The first measure of any successful day or successful project is whether it was safe.”
